While the rest of the city was rushing to midtown to capture shots of the bi-annual phenomenon earlier this week, I thought I’d avoid the chaos by staying in Brooklyn and trying out my Fuji 50-230mm zoom lens on the sun setting over New Jersey and the Hudson.
In reality, I would have loved to be in Manhatten on Tuesday evening, but lost track of time and wouldn’t have made it across the river quickly enough to catch the sunset…
There wasn’t much to shoot in the foreground from where I was setup, but I’m happy with how my camera rendered the different shades of yellow and orange, and it’s nice to know that even at 230mm the lens was able to grab a fair amount of detail during the golden hour.
